That's why our roses thrive at around 3000m above sea level in the beautiful surroundings of Ecuador. Ecuador is known worldwide for growing the most beautiful roses in the world. The mild daytime climate and cool nights also make our rose varieties particularly robust.

But only happy people can grow happy roses. That's why our great roses come exclusively from Ecuadorian family farms. Together with the farms, we place great value on human- and environmentally-friendly production. All farms are affiliated with the German Flower Label program.

"When it comes to roses, Urs Kägi & Hervé Briatte blossom. "This is Vendela - delicate and beautiful," enthuses 48-year-old Urs, presenting the white rose bouquet in the entrance as if it were his beloved daughter."
That's what it sounds like in the article in the Swiss Illustrated magazine from September 2010. However, you don't have to read the article to understand that the two founders mentioned above are passionate rose fans - would you like an example? Co-founder Hervé Briatte was often only really happy when he could decorate his house with hundreds of roses. So it's not surprising that the two founders developed a new rose variety especially for the Rose d'Or Festival in collaboration with a breeder.
It was also the love of roses that motivated the two private and business partners to Rosenbörse to reasons. Hervé ordered roses every Saturday to decorate their shared apartment, but they were already wilted by Tuesday! And they quickly became sure... There must be a better way.
The foundation
With the motivation to be able to sell the most beautiful roses, they ordered roses from all over the world and compared them until they found what they were looking for in Ecuador. 2 family businesses were able to meet the high quality standards and deliver fresh, hand-picked roses every day.
So now they had the beautiful goods, but they had to be sold somehow. Briatte, who had previously worked successfully as a commodity trader, traded in his beloved Jaguar for a delivery van so he could pick up the fresh roses at the airport and then sell them at a market stall in Lucerne.
And the careful selection paid off. Initially ridiculed, the business began to flourish and they could hardly keep up with the orders. And so, after a few 7-day weeks full of selling, delivering and putting together bouquets, the Rosenbörse born.

The next logical step was to open our own shop, specializing in high-quality roses.
Meanwhile, the Rosenbörse around 30 employees who, full of passion and motivation, ensure every day that many people are made happy.
